My Manchester United January transfer wish lists

The international break is the best time to talk about the players we wish to see at Old Trafford in the New Year. The January transfer window is opening in 50 days, so first, I wish the glazers show that the club is not in a financial crisis to see Sir Alex Ferguson splashing cash to bring new players…superstar’ players!

In my view, I think there are areas which are in need for an immediate strength. First, the front line are definitely in need for another striker, we saw how the team forced to play Rooney alone upfront against Chelsea due to Dimitar Berbatov’ injury. Macheda still young to be considered as a first team player so we are left with a three strikers and we know that to compete in more than one competition we need real alternatives (remember during the late 90s and the start of the new millennium, we got Cole, Yorke, Sheringham, Solskjaer and Cruyff). We should also look for another classy winger as Nani is struggling to achieve what the fans are looking for and Park Ji Sung is still in await for his comeback and finally a natural right-back is needed specially if Wes Brown won’t be given another chance to play in his favorite position. Here are my wish lists:

David Villa – Valencia:

David VillaEl Guaje is already one of the most prolific striker in Europe. His scoring record is enough to talk about what can the Spanish international does with any defenders. He also can score from free-kicks (Torres can’t!). It is possible to see Villa wearing Man United shirt as Valencia are in need of the money to pay off the banks. We had Ruud van Nistelrooy as a hitman and David Villa can play the same rule if he arrives on January.

Luis Alberto Suárez – Ajax:

SuarezSuarez is another option who can play upfront and as winger. The Uruguayan international is only 22 years old and this would fit Sir Alex Ferguson and Manchester United long term plans. He is the captain of his team and so far, he could manage to score 21 goals in 20 games this season.

David Silva – Valencia:

I have talked about the possibility of David Silva joining Man United last month and I will explain why I like this player style. I watched few games for David Silva with Valencia this season and he impressed me with his skills and vision. He usually plays down the left wing but he is a typical playmaker for his team and a factor when talking about goals that his team-mate David Villa scores. Reports suggest Man United will bid for the pair and I am sure all fans will be satisfied with such a deal.

Maicon – Inter:

MaiconWhen talking about a talented right back in current football world, no one can ignore Brazilian international Maicon. While United are having Patrice Evra who is the best left back in the world at the moment, I think adding Maicon to the right is what the squad is missing, an experienced player who can contribute in assists and goals without forgetting his abilities in marking and tacking the opponents’ attack. A good offer for Inter may persuade Jose Mourinho, who is looking to be SAF successor, to sell the player.

According to the media, there are many other players who may join Manchester United but I didn’t include them in my list. Many of them seem to be summer targets rather than January. I also don’t fancy seeing players like Frank Ribery who will play with United for two seasons before asking to be transferred to Real Madrid!

What is your wish-list?!

If we had to go for one player, I’d choose Villa because we need someone who can score goals. Berbatov is good but he can’t score goals in almost every game. Rooney scores goals but is inconsistent. I’m sure he’ll become more consistent in the coming days but still we need a striker now who can score goals like Ronaldo did.

If I have to pick someone else other than Villa, it would be Silva. He can play AM/LM. He will be a good player for us.

the arrival of david villa and david silva is going to be the biggest revolution ever in manchester united, as the fans can’t wait to see both of play with the english premier league giants.
