The new Manchester United Anthem: Listen Here

The Manchester derby this weekend will see the introduction of a new Manchester United Anthem ‘United Road’ and you can be amongst the first to listen to it on Truly Reds. The song was written by Will Robinson and Daniel Ryan, the same song writers who produced the re worked 2009 version of ‘Glory Glory Man United’ which featured Korean violinist Jenny Bae. The vocals on ‘United Road’ are performed by Richie, who previously sang ‘Manchester United Number One’. Robinson and Ryan, who also wrote ‘Chico Is The Man’ – the Javier Hernandez song – are currently recording an album all about Manchester United which will be released later this year. “I am totally inspired to write lyrics about United – they have achieved so much and are a great club,” said Robinson.

And here are the lyrics

United road, United road
United Road, United road
Wont you take me home United road
united roads united road

Its our home, a place of glory
Its our game, our football story
that we all fight to win the title

So Lets March on and sing our song
and we’ll battle forever long
and we all shout from the East stand
Manchester please take me home

United road, United road
United Road, United Road
Wont you take me home United road
United road United road

And now were back on the road to glory
Uniteds fame is back and thats our story
Man united, will never die.

Best and finest our Sir Matt Busby
And Long live Ferguson’s Red Army
And we all shout from the East stand
Manchester’s oh please take me home

United road, United road
United Road, United road
Wont you take me home United road
United road United road.

United road, United road
United Road, United road
Wont you take me home United road
United road United road.

I’m the first to admit that my taste in music is not the greatest and have to say that I’m not overly impressed with this new song – yet.

Do you have an opinion about this new anthem?

Seriously its great,I like the way it builds up to a “climax”,the singer Ritchie, going faster and faster.Well done.
    .
I recognise the toon, was it not sung, bye John Denver (deceased).
Should, get the “support” rocking. 😉

  4. Awuah says:

  5. Alan says:

You guy’s have got to be having a laugh that’s just plain embarrassing, it’s truly awfull. It makes Eurovision sound good! What have u been smoking!!! Please please don’t play before the games it will make us a laughing stock, sack it now.

  6. RedScot says:

@Alan, lay of the Waccky Baccy mate, take a chill pill.To each their own.I am tone deaf.I can only play Guitar, Bagpipes and a mean Spoon. lol

  7. Duffy03691 says:

Give me Stone Roses this is the one any day over this cheesy shite

  8. RedScot says:

@ Duffy, what do you know about Musik?. I like Ballboy, “all the records on the radio are shite, except mine”. Its all a matter of taste.
    Glory Glory Man United. 🙂

  9. Duffy03691 says:

@ Red Scot….i know how to spell it for one lol.

No i just dont like the idea of getting pumped up for a game to something which is really only trying to make 75,000 think of the history of the club even though we all know a large chunk of the crowd are there really for a day out and some who have no idea of the large history that we have.

Personally (and please dont take it personally if i disagree with those who like the song) i think it would be a lot easier to get our crowd pumped up listening to something more upbeat than drone and slow…..and dont get me started on that gladiator shite we play before the players come out….god almighty

  10. Duffy03691 says:

Just saw somthing as well that made me laugh “and we all shout from the East stand” this taking the piss lol. Even whisper in the east stand and the stewards threaten to chuck you out

  11. RedScot says:

@ Red Scot….i know how to spell it for one lol. Musik, you mean, lol. Thats just youth mate! Its the way I see it.
It will grow on you, promise you.It just takes a few listens.
Jaysus I sound like Ritchie, promoting my own song.
As I said to each there own. Give me a G. lol.
You are a season ticket holder?. Hmmmm.
Gladiator, thats a favourite film of mine.I like the words at the end, because it has meaning for me, in a United way, “We shall me again, just not yet”. Because I have banged the anti Glazer drum for long enough. My wrists are sore.

  12. Tom Addison says:

Only listened to the first 30 seconds, had to turn it off, that is embarrassingly bad. Music played over speakers has no place in football, it should be left to the fans to create the atmosphere. Even the Rocky fanfare they play before kick-off grinds my gears.
