Hopes of another one of Uniteds renowned comebacks were dashed by Paul Scholes being correctly red carded with 20 minutes remaining for a reckless, studs up challenge on Pablo Zabaleta. For all intents and purpose, it was game over. Being defeated by cross city rivals is never pleasant, especially in an FA Cup semi final but United can now completely focus on what they crave above all else – a record title win and a place in the Champions League final.

I am not even going to comment on the match, other than we handed the match to City.There were many errors for Citys goal during the build up to it.On saying that, its not the time to laying blame and highlighting individual players as the scapegoats.We were not doing so shabbily before the kick off at 5.15 were we?In with a chance(slim) of repeating the 1999 treble.It was a big ask, but it was a good dream to have, while it lasted.We move on to Newcastle on Tuesday, get the 19th Premiership title back on the road,and shout “all” the players on!on!on!
If all you can do is rip up the players that had a below average game today for United, and not accept that City were better on the day, its not reasoned and a fair assessment in my view.
