Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that the day will come when one of my best loved Manchester United legends should be encouraged to bring down the final curtain on his illustrious career! Yet here I am, desperately hoping for Sir Alex Ferguson to put a fatherly arm around Ryan Giggs, advising him to ‘concentrate on your life away from football son, you have nothing more to prove’ Why?
Because of the many tabloid newspaper stories like this which are certain to go on and on while Giggs continues to wear his United shirt – “Legendary midfielder Ryan Giggs, 37, is still battling to save his marriage after he was outed as the footballer who got a gagging order to mask a six month fling with ex Big Brother star Imogen Thomas.
Giggs’ sister in law Natasha then revealed they had a secret eight year affair behind the back of the player’s wife Stacey and his brother Rhodri. Estate agent Natasha has also confessed to bedding Giggs’ ex United team mates Dwight Yorke, Danny Simpson and Phil Bardsley who dubbed her “Ring ’n Ride” – Daily Star – June 21
Does the most decorated Premier Football League player need to put up with this salacious garbage? Of course not. For his own sake – and that of his family, I would dearly love to see one of Manchester United’s greatest ever players quietly fade into the background.
But then again, Giggs is not a kid. He certainly does not need me to suggest what may be best for him.
Should Ryan Giggs continue with his playing career?
