Is Angel Di Maria the Right Signing for Manchester United?

Reports in Spain say Real Madrid have received two offers from PSG and Manchester United for Di Maria.

The Spanish paper AS go one step further and say United‘s offer is the highest. Here is a tweet from AS’s English twitter account where they have relayed such information to a Manchester United fan (click here).  According to their information, they also think van Gaal, the new Manchester United manager, is pushing hard for a deal for Di Maria which would represent a big signing for United.  After missing out on Toni Kroos, acquiring the services of the Argentine winger may go some way to ease concerns within the United fanbase.

Graham Hunter also weighs in on why he thinks Di Maria could end up at Old Trafford (click here)

Di Maria has just come off one of his best seasons for Real Madrid. With 11 goals and 26 assists in all competitions, the Argentine sounds like a player who will not only add much needed quality but increased productivity to United’s attacking line.  Under Ancelotti’s 4-3-3 formation, Di Maria was used in a hybrid role where he popped up on the wing and in central midfield.  His work-rate was a key factor in helping the team maintain balance and defensive shape.

Not only is he willing to put a shift in for the team, he is also quite versatile and can be played across the attacking third.  Add this with his blistering pace and dribbling ability seems to suggest Di Maria is the right fit for what Louis van Gaal is looking for.  The Dutch manager  has intimated he would like to add more pace to the Red Devils attacking line and Di Maria can do just that! If he does join, expect to see him utilised in a wide forward role in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation.

What do you think? Is Di Maria the right kind of signing to bring to United? Tell us your thoughts!!

Absolutely not! Vastly overpriced, vastly overrated. We are, (hopefully), getting rid of some of our players who specialise in running around in circles and falling over a lot, why would we spend so much money on another one? I can’t believe van Gaal would sanction this transfer.
Concentrate on getting Vidal, never mind this clown.
