Truly Reds does it’s best to bring you the latest news but there’s only so much that can be covered. What can you say about the 22 year old kid? He comes to Old Trafford as a virtual unknown from Mexico for little more than peanuts, attracts recognition for his country at the World Cup in South Africa just a few weeks later and is now forcing hardened Manchester United fans to ask ‘Wayne who?’ For the second time in 72 hours, Javier Hernandez managed to grab a late winner and again showed the foresight of Sir Alex Ferguson in plucking the youngster from Guadalajara for a reported £7million transfer fee. If daylight robbery is a crime, Sir Alex should be jailed for the rest of his life.

Call me naive if you want, maybe even in denial, but I just cannot accept that the only unbeaten team in the Premier League, the one which largely dominated three of the five matches it somehow failed to win – four of them away from home, is already being written off as serious title contenders by some football pundits including many of its own fans! How can that be possible? Granted, points have been thrown away like confetti, wasted points that would now have Manchester United sitting on top of the table, but does it REALLY mean that all championship hopes have disappeared?

One quality that Manchester United has an abundance of is confidence. Some rivals have often mistaken it for arrogance but nothing can be further from the truth. The old saying that success breeds success has never been better illustrated than it has at Old Trafford over the last 20 years as the silverware came in season after season.

Mexico striker Javier Hernandez is a relieved young man today after an FA panel granted Manchester United an application for a work visa, thus giving the green light to start a career at Old Trafford and ending fears that the £7million transfer deal having be scrapped. The 21 year old Hernandez sealed a move to England last month but did not meet the criteria for a permit as he has not played in 75 per cent of Mexico’s games over the past two years.

Manchester United fans had their first look at new signing Javier Hernandez when the man known as Chicharito came on as a second half substitute during Mexico’s 3-1 defeat in Monday nights World Cup warm up game at Wembley Stadium. The 21 year old did not really have a chance to shine as England displayed a marked second half improvement to clinch victory.
