Cleverley keeps United’s Youth machine in gear

Youth has once again been given its head under Sir Alex Ferguson and Tom Cleverley is one of those ‘kids’ who has figured in all of the Reds’ opening fixtures. Despite rave reviews, including comparisons to midfield greats of the past, he told Nick Coppack from United Review and ManUtd.com that he’s keeping his feet on the ground

Red Dead Podcast 6 – Brom, De Gea, City and Aguero and THAT bloody chant

Welcome to the sixth episode of the “Red Dead Podcast”, the preeminent Manchester United podcast for Truly Reds, brought to you as always by Tom “Darren Fletcher” Addison and Liam “Wrestlemania” Brown.

This week we’re taking a look at United’s performances against West Brom and Man City in recent weeks and the hysteria surrounding two mistakes made by new boy De Gea in both of those games, as well as assessing City’s chances in the league this season (thanks to their latest signing) and also those of Arsenal (thanks to their latest departure).

We’ll also be discussing the rumours regarding a potential share issue by United on the Singapore stock market, but most importantly we’ll be delving into the issue of why United fans seem to use the same song for so many players (with Ashley Young being the latest victim)

Comments, feedback and questions are greatly appreciated, you can contact us on reddeadpodcast@hotmail.co.uk (no spam please, neither of us have a desire to get “ripped” in six weeks, nor meet local slags in our area)

Remember, you can also follow us, and Truly Reds, on Twitter: @TrulyReds @TomRDPodcast and @LiamRDPodcast

Join us again soon, where we’ll hopefully be discussing a United home win against Tottenham, and anything else that tickles our fancy.

Ferguson plans yet another United youth dynasty

Nobody can doubt that the Manchester United youth ranks are packed with highly talented future stars – let me rephrase that, POTENTIAL future stars, which should guarantee ongoing success for years. Names like Paul Pogba and Ravel Morisson amongst others immediately come to mind while there are a swag of on loan youngsters which include Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck, Mame Diouf, Federico Macheda, Corry Evans and Richard De Laet. Sir Alex Ferguson left little doubt when he recently made clear that “They will come back into the first team squad and they will get plenty of games next season” when we asked about his plans.

Predictions…and wishes for United in 2011

Making football predictions must be one of the most pointless exercises of all. Most of them are only mere wishes or are purely based on gut feelings. But it’s the first day of a new year so it’s a practice that has come to be expected. After all no harm can be done except for the risk of ending up with egg splattered all over the face. Here goes with each ‘guess’ being identified as either a wish or a prediction in no particular order of priority. Football fortunes can turn very quickly and only time will tell whether even one of these ten turns out to be correct. One of them is likely to be highly controversial so let’s get it out of the way first up.
