Media Watch on Manchester United – January 13


January 13, 2011 – There are more Manchester United stories published in the media than any other club – some are worth reading, others are absolute garbage! So how can anyone possibly keep up with them all? Truly Reds does it’s best to bring you the latest news about The Reds but there’s only so much that can be covered. If Dalglish can return, the Doc can follow Ferguson


Resurrected old/new Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish came to Old Trafford on Sunday and while he did not exactly Walk Alone back to Anfield, there was certainly no Triumphant March from Aida blaring in the background! As a matter of fact, he was quick to come out with the expected after match bitter mutterings of 'that penalty was a joke' and 'it was never a red card'. Nothing unusual, it's what Scousers do best whenever they get beaten – which has become the norm this season. I fully understand that this is a Manchester United blog and what happens at Anfield should be none of our business BUT before I get accused of being 'obsessed' by Liverpool – another common Scouse boast, stay with me as I explain why there may well be a lesson for United in all of this.

Dalglish fails to deliver as United KO's Liverpool


New Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish came to Old Trafford, saw, then went home vanquished and out of the FA Cup. The desperately hoped for turn of fortunes for the beleaguered club never materialised as the new 'messiah' saw his side defeated with a second minute Ryan Giggs penalty, followed by a red card to captain Steven Gerrard just after the half hour. Manchester United now goes forward to visit  Southampton in the fourth round while Liverpool realistically only has the Europa League to play for during the rest of the season.
