On loan Welbeck scores his first goal with Preston


Manchester United promising striker Danny Welbeck scored a wonderful goal in Preston North End victory over Ipswich Town in a game which had many Manchester United connections.

Preston manager Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex, was happy to see Welbeck to score from excellent chip over Arran Lee-Barrett after 84 minutes of his second appearance.

Welbeck and Owen send United to the last eight of the Carling Cup


Manchester United went throw to the next round of Carling cup after defeating Barnsley away at Oakwell Stadium in the fourth round of the competition which United won last year. Two goals from Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen were enough to see the reds through.

Sir Alex Ferguson started the game with players who didn’t start against Liverpool plus some players from the reserve team. It took United 6 minutes only to break the deadlock after Anderson bended in an accurate corner to find unmarked Danny Welbeck who nodded in at the near post. Read the full story

Manchester United defeated Mark Robins’ Barnsley 2-0 in the fourth round of Carling cup. The first goal came after 6 minutes by Danny Welbeck and the second scored by Michael Owen after 59 minutes .

Has finished his summer spending

I can’t believe that United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has finished his summer spending already. Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia and Gabriel Obertan are the only arrivals at United this summer and it looked like we would be signing a superstar as well.

Unfortunately for the United faithful there will be no more arrivals at Old Trafford. Sir Alex has put this down to the transfer market catching fire and players value being inflated this summer. So players such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sergio Aguero and Douglas Costa will not be plying their trade at the Theatre of Dreams next season. Read the full story
