Ferguson plans yet another United youth dynasty


Nobody can doubt that the Manchester United youth ranks are packed with highly talented future stars – let me rephrase that, POTENTIAL future stars, which should guarantee ongoing success for years. Names like Paul Pogba and Ravel Morisson amongst others immediately come to mind while there are a swag of on loan youngsters which include Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck, Mame Diouf, Federico Macheda, Corry Evans and Richard De Laet. Sir Alex Ferguson left little doubt when he recently made clear that “They will come back into the first team squad and they will get plenty of games next season” when we asked about his plans.

10 men United grab late winner over Bolton


It was left terribly late and Manchester United made it difficult for themselves before overcoming Bolton with a Dimitar Berbatov winner after 88 minutes but while it was far from a brilliant display, United picked up a brilliant three points as title challengers Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw at relegation threatened West Brom. It looked as if United were going to have to settle for a costly scoreless draw after defender Jonny Evans was sent off with 12 minutes remaining but they kept pushing forward looking for a winner and it finally came  right at the death. It turned out to be a great afternoon for United with both Arsenal and Tottenham dropping what could turn out to be crucial points with one or both of Chelsea and Manchester City doing the same on Sunday in their meeting at Stamford Bridge.

United on target for another first against Valencia


Despite the heavy 0-4 defeat suffered at West Ham in the Carling Cup last week, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to again leave a number of senior players out of his starting lineup for Tuesday night’s Champions League meeting with Valencia. Both clubs have already qualified for the knockout round although top spot in Group C is still up for grabs. United have 13 points from five games and will win the group if they avoid defeat against the Spaniards.
