Carrick refuses to contemplate another failure


England midfielder Michael Carrick had never experienced an end of season Manchester United dressing room in which there was no champagne soaked Premier League trophy to celebrate another title winning campaign – until last May. In the three years since his £18million move from Tottenham, the 28 year old had only known success at Old Trafford and is determined not to go through that feeling of ‘what might have been’ again.

Sir Bobby Charlton remembers…AND looks ahead


It may be common knowledge but well worth repeating that there is nobody, anywhere who has devoted so many years of his life to Manchester United. Sir Bobby Charlton signed for the club as a schoolboy on January 1, 1953 and apart from a couple of short spells elsewhere following his retirement, has remained at Old Trafford ever since. Stop and think about that for a moment, 57 of his 72 years have been spent serving the one club which virtually became his life.

So Ferguson was to blame for England's debacle!


You really have to wonder what goes through the minds of presumably well paid journalists from major national newspapers when they come up with the sort of rubbish they so often do. A report appearing in the Daily Mirror suggests that “While we’re looking for scapegoats on whom to apportion blame for England’s early World Cup exit, let’s not forget the part Sir Alex Ferguson played in our South Africa debacle.”
