Like many of the Old Trafford faithful, my loyalty and devotion to my club surpasses that for the England national team. This isn’t to say I don’t support England, I still become somewhat of a blubbering wreck each time we’re predictably sent packing by far superior opposition at each major international tournament. But I don’t feel that I can connect with and relate to the footballing ethos and philosophy of the England national team, which has a long history of anti-intellectualism and self-righteous arrogance, in a way that I can with Manchester United’s. South Korea captain Ji Sung Park admits that qualifying for the semi finals of the 2002 World Cup was a little miracle but that it’s possible for it to happen again in South Africa. “Obviously 2002 was a great achievment for us, it was a miracle but there’s nothing to say that it cannot happen again” the 29 year old Manchester United midfield dynamo warned. But then Park quickly added that the odds of a repeat performance are very slim ”Actually our goal is to get through to the second round and we don’t even think about going any further”

If anybody wants the best possible clue that Everton manager David Moyes is the most likely man to take over at Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson finally decides to call it a day, a huge one was given by Moyes himself this week when he simply laughed off reports that he is set to take over the job after the 2010-2011 season.
