June 2, 2011 – There are more Manchester United stories in the media than any other club – some are worth reading, others are absolute garbage! How can anyone possibly keep up with them all? Truly Reds does it’s best to bring you the latest news but there’s only so much that can be covered. One alternative is to collate the stories which cannot be updated daily so that they can at least be brought to your attention each Thursday of every week
The primary target was 19 which was successfully won!
Anything else would have merely been a bonus

It’s been said many times. We can all be the greatest managers in the world AFTER the game yet there are still some uncomfortable questions which keeps arising after Manchester United’s defeat at Molineux. Let me make it absolutely clear from the start that nobody has a higher respect for Sir Alex Fergusons judgement than I do. After all, who the hell am I to question his decisions? No doubt, there are times when gambles have to be taken by football managers, some are won, others lost and let’s face it, Sir Alex has come up trumps far more often than not over a long period of time. Even with the benefit of hindsight however, some questions still cannot help but go through my mind.

Forget the body contortions that resulted in arguably the most valuable goal struck for Manchester United in this campaign so far. Ignore this one lung busting 90 minute display against Arsenal tonight. Can anyone dispute the fact that on his performances since the start of the season, Ji-sung Park must be the most under rated player at Old Trafford – if not the whole of the Premier League? Please do not misunderstand, nobody is claiming that ‘three lungs’ is the greatest or the most valuable, simply the most under rated. Granted, the man does not grab the headlines like other high profile stars tend to do but what more can a manager expect from any of his players?

The Carrington training complex was eerily quiet this week as players made a mass exodus to link up with their national teams all over Europe. Most are helping their countries in the efforts to qualify for Euro 2012, while others had to travel further afield. It’s a price that has to be paid when the squad contains so many internationals from all over the world. To Old Trafford legend Sir Bobby Charlton the challenge is simple “It is crucial that United reassert their dominance in the Premier League, anything other than the championship trophy will be failure” he says as if his demand is the easiest thing in the world to achieve. And the 1966 World Cup winner is confident that United would have learned from the mistakes which may have been made last season.
