United troops ins, outs and on national service


Interruptions to the Premier League for international matches have never been welcome but Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is breathing a sigh of relief for the respite that his troops can enjoy before re engaging in the title race with the trip to West Ham. Sir Alex believes that the break has come at a perfect time as his side attempts to clinch a record breaking championship. Ferguson hopes to have key players available by the time United resume their season saying “ We have a great lead even though Arsenal have a game in hand but we’ve got the points so we don’t need to worry about that. Once we start getting players back from injury, we will have a great chance.”

Chicharito is the Man – Your chance to listen


When Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson signed  Javier Hernandez for £7 million from Mexico’s Chivas back in April he described him as being “two footed, very quick, in possession of a good spring and a natural goalscorer”. ‘Chicharito’ has since proven Ferguson right and quickly won over the fans at Old Trafford. So much so that a group by the name of  The World Red Army featuring the salsa vocals of Choco Orta has recorded ‘Chico is the Man’ in tribute and you can listen to it by clicking on the cover.

The rise and rise of Chicharito at Old Trafford


From a virtually unknown Mexican kid a mere six months ago to the man who everyone at Old Trafford has fallen in love with. ‘Chicharito‘  is polite, articulate, has proven to have enormous talent and obviously appreciates the opportunity offered to him by Manchester United. He is the young man that every father would welcome into his family with open arms unlike some of the spoilt characters found in so many major football clubs. Is Javier Hernandez too good to be true? In a recent interview with Inside United magazine he reflects on how his life has changed from almost giving up on football to becoming United’s first Mexican player.
