Manchester United have suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Burnley at Turf Moor. The Champions were expecting a comfortable victory at their North West rivals, but the Clarets had other ideas.
Manchester United are on top of the premier league table after defeating Portsmouth in the game which saw Paul Scholes made his 600th appearance for the club. Goals from Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick sent United back on track to keep the premiership trophy at Old Trafford for the third year in row.
Wayne Rooney waited only 9 minutes to break the dead lock. Anderson played a smart pass to Ryan Giggs to set him free on the wing and Giggs sent the ball to Rooney who turned home from just outside the six-yard box. Read the full story
Manchester United struggled to secure a 4-3 win against newly promoted Hull City at Old Trafford. Phil Brown’s side have become the darlings of the premiership after their fantastic shock start to the season with dramatic wins at Arsenal and Spurs and nearly pulled off another unlikely result at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils looked to be in a journey when a Cristiano Ronaldo double and goals from Michael Carrick and Nemanja Vidic put United 4-1 up.
For 15 minutes, United peppered the Hull goal, with Ronaldo and Berbatov going close. They scored once, when Vidic turned home Rooney’s corner.
But Ferguson wanted more and introduced Carlos Tevez for Nani. It meant United had £90million-worth of attacking talent on the pitch, plus Ronaldo, whose goal tally had shot up to seven.
But Hull City fought back with goals from Bernard Mendy and former Manchester City midfielder Geovanni which saw the Reds holding on for victory.
Sir Alex Ferguson has gambled a lot during this game when he tried to play with four attackers. Anderson form was good at the first half, but it dropped in the second and Fergie could only recognize this before few minutes from the end when he brought on John O’shea.
Wayne Rooney would be sent off during today game. The golden boy should concentrate more in his game and don’t bother himself with scoring the 100th goal of his career as it will come now or later.
