This is the peculiar story of a £15 million signing. A player who lit up the Championship last season and has twice been capped by England, but has made just three appearances for his new side as of January 2014. A known prodigious and rapid attacking threat, but whose continued lack of playing time at his new club continues to bemuse. What on earth is going on with Wilfried Zaha at Manchester United? Scholes & Jones Look Dejected As Kompany Reels Away In Joy

The biggest and most important Manchester derby of recent times brought with it disappointment and begrudging acceptance that the opposition deserved the win and were the better side for Manchester United fans. For some disappointment led to anger and frustration even. For others there was shock. We have never known it like this before. We have seen United claw back deficits to win titles before but we have never seen United claw back a deficit, establish a healthy lead with only a handful of games left to go and then relinquish the lead. Never ever! The closest compared to what we are experiencing now is having our own lead clawed back but that was when United were leading the title race; 1991-92,1994-95,1997-98. Read the full story

The Reds Are Marching On Steadily….

On a weekend, where the entire football world and m

ore witnessed a very sad and sickening scene in Italy as Livorno’s Pierpaolo Morosini tried to stay on his feet as he battled a cardiac arrest before succumbing to a tragic death on the way to hospital. What makes it more tragic was his background and how he kept fighting on and playing with a smile inspite of the various tragedies in his family. Morosini passed away at a young age of 25, three years younger than me. Our thoughts should go out to him as it were for everyone at Old Trafford where a minute’s silence was held in his memory before Manchester United’s match against Aston Villa. Read the full story

One Down, Eight To Go

One game less, eight games to go, three points clear on top of the English Premier League, on a run of 9 wins in the last 10 league matches; a good run of form. This is made more impressive by the fact that during this run, Manchester United have faced their toughest challengers and closest rivals in terms of history or league position; Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs. If the Red Devils maintain this form for the remainder of the season which includes a very short trip to the Etihad Stadium to face Manchester City, we would be celebrating another title triumph come 13th of May 2012 away in the Stadium of Light against Sunderland. Added to the form of the team would be the fact that United’s players have the experience of seeing out a title run-in and emerging victorious. Everything seems to be going well and according to plan. Nothing to worry about? You would be wrong to think as such. Read the full story

Giggs Rolls Back the Clock for his 900th Appearance

All over the world, headlines would be written about Ryan Giggs getting a late winner for Manchester United in his 900th appearance for the club. Let’s rewind a bit to the start of the game and it sure did bring back some memories of meetings in the early years of the Premier League between the two clubs when Norwich City were one of United’s closest challenger for the title in the inaugral year of the English Premier League. The season was 1992-93 and Ryan Giggs ended the season with his first ever Premier League winners medal around his neck as well as the PFA Young Player of The Year award. Read the full story

Bring Out The Witch Doctor

How strange it was to watch Manchester United play on a Thursday night in a European game. As the players lined up, they heard the anthem of the Europa League which was uncharted territory for anyone with an United affiliation. I must say that some of the players looked dumbfounded at listening to an anthem that wasn’t as stirring as they are used to in the Champions League. If United’s ambition of progressing further in this competition is true, then the players got to get used to listening to the anthem. Read the full story
