Watching former Manchester United starlets Jonathan Greening and Erik Nevland bravely battling away for Fulham in a vain attempt to try and salvage something for their club last weekend one could not help but wonder how often they must have thought of what might have been when looking back on their careers.
The 31 year old Greening made 14 senior appearances in midfield during his 3 years at Old Trafford between 1998 and 2001 before going on to build a decent career for himself at Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion then settling at Fulham last year. Read the full story

Back in the early 1950’s Manchester United made a far sighted decision which had major ramifications for the club at the time and has continued to produce handsome dividends until this very day. Their legendary manager Sir Matt Busby had concluded that rather than spend large sums of money on big name players, better long term results would be produced by recruiting youngsters just out of school and developing them himself. Gary Neville, Man United Captain, has criticized the appointment of former England international team mate’ Alan Shearer as a manager. He believes any former player should get qualify before managing in the premier league or anywhere else.
The Premier League rule stated any boss is supposed to hold the UEFA Pro Licence and Shearer has become Newcastle manager without it. Read the full story

Goals from Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov secured a victory for Manchester United against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
Sir Alex’s side found themselves behind by one goal in the 9th minutes when Newcastle took a shock lead after Van der Sar fumbled Gutierrez’s shot from long distance to find Peter Lovenkrands who put it home to give Newcastle the lead.
After 10 minutes, Rooney continued his great scoring record against Newcastle with a professional turn after Park Ji-Sung and John O’shea one-two and made a first time shot inside the box to beat Steve Harper and made the score level. Read the full story

Manchester United are going to St. James’ Park with a good chance to extend their lead of the English premier league if they win in their game against Newcastle United today at 19:45.
Many stars players will return to the squad after last Sunday Carling Cup victory. WAYNE Rooney has recovered from a virus and should partner Dimitar Berbatov up front. Manchester United started the 2008-2009 season with a 1-1 home draw against Kevin Keegan side’s Newcastle United. Sir Alex Ferguson side was missing main players like Ronaldo and Tevez who supposed to start the game but he was ruled out because of a family bereavement in Argentina, leaving Sir Alex to start with Rooney and Campbell up front, meaning that there would no strikers on the bench.
United started the game attacking Newcastle goal. The first thread became the third minute when Fraizer Campbell was fouled by Fabricio Coloccini to give United a free-kick which was taken by Ryan Giggs. Giggs Kick was blocked by James Milner’s arm inside the box, but referee Mike Riley did not blow for a penalty which could change the game for United. After 3 minutes of that Wayne Rooney crossed the ball to Campbell who met the ball with a nice aerial head but Given was lucky that the ball somehow hit his head. Then a good effort from Scholes was blocked by Given when the Irish keeper saved his center shoot On the 17th minute.
