With the Barclay’s Premiership season 2012 /13 a mere 3 games completed in most teams calendar, of the grueling 38 match campaign. It’s worth having a look at the runner’s and riders in the race at this
early stage for the prestigious Golden Boot award:
1. Sergio Aguero. Clearly a strong contender having registered 23 goals in just 34 games last season for Manchester City , which was his first season for the Citizens .The quality of David Silva and man – mountain Yaya Toure will create and provide a host of assists for Kun .The Argentine still only 24 a fans favorite of the loyal Etihad faithful. Whom have this strange trait of turning their backs on their team, during a match. Poznan you say! Aguero likely to be right at the top of the table come the season end, should he stay injury free.

Just a few observations to make….
(1) It’s the passing stupid! Every time Man United lose or play badly the passing is dreadful, and therein lays the causality. I don’t think there’s anything more frustrating than watching, not just professional footballers, but those who are supposedly at the peak of the game not be able to play a pass 10 yards in order to be able to start an attacking move. This has been a feature at United for the past few years now, and it’s even more frustrating considering how good the passing had been in the 5-0 wins against Wigan and Fulham, and even QPR and Wolves.
I’m not trying to take anything away from Newcastle here, of course their pressing was great tonight (particularly when compared to ours), but we made them look like they had 15 players between their defence and attack.

Months of frustrating uncertainty may finally be coming to an end for Darren Fletcher as he got one step closer to a first team return with a strong 90 minute display in the reserves at Arsenal on Monday night. A Manchester United second string side went down 2-1 to the Gunners but more importantly for Fletcher, he came through the entire match unscathed and looking more like his usual self.

June 2, 2011 – There are more Manchester United stories in the media than any other club – some are worth reading, others are absolute garbage! How can anyone possibly keep up with them all? Truly Reds does it’s best to bring you the latest news but there’s only so much that can be covered. One alternative is to collate the stories which cannot be updated daily so that they can at least be brought to your attention each Thursday of every week
The primary target was 19 which was successfully won!
Anything else would have merely been a bonus

So the frustrating point gained at Newcastle proved to be a valuable one after all as title chasers Arsenal dropped another two at Tottenham tonight. Football is a game of inches and as Sir Alex Ferguson knows so well, each one gets you that much closer to the finishing line. United are now back to where they started prior to the visit to St James’ Park with the added advantage of being one game closer to the record Championship which everyone at Old Trafford craves so much.
