Queiroz leaves Man Utd to replace Scolari


Carlos QueirozThe Portuguese FA has officially appointed Queiroz as their next national team manager on a four-year contract. They were searching for a replacement for Luiz Felipe Scolari, after the Brazilian left to Chelsea. Scolari was named as Avram Grant’s replacement during Euro 2008 before Portugal knocked out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage. Manchester United assistant manager Queiroz was immediately set as the preferred choice for the job, but he had to wait until the outcome of the talks between Manchester United and Portugal. There has been some rumor that Queiroz could wish to remain at Old Trafford, with Sir Alex Ferguson see on him the right man to be the next Man United manager.

Queiroz expressed his happens to answer his country call and will look to guide Portugal to glory at the next World Cup in South Africa. Read the full story
