Sanchez in £27m deal…and more transfer gossip

Transfer rumours are a dime a dozen. Very few have genuine substance so they should always be taken with a huge amount of cynicism. Yet they cannot be completely ignored in case there’s the slightest grain of truth in them. Some media outlets are obviously more reliable than others so Truly Reds is prepared to report the gossip and give a rating of 1 to 5 as to how believable it’s likely be. Why Ferguson’s 5 match ban will NOT harm United

Much has been made of Sir Alex Ferguson’s touchline line ban by the FA after being found guilty of improper conduct. The ban will include United’s FA Cup semi final against Manchester City at Wembley on 16 April as well as the Premier League games against Bolton, West Ham, Fulham and Everton. The manager will however be back in the dugout for the crunch match with title rivals Arsenal in May. While the punishment may sound excessively harsh on Sir Alex for simply expressing his honest feelings in the compulsory post match interview, any damaging effect on the team’s performance will be minimal.

Why the word ‘FAIR’ can not apply to this rag

Let’s be ‘FAIR’ and acknowledge the fact that the British tabloid The Daily Express is not exactly the most reputable newspaper on the planet. Let’s be just as ‘FAIR’ and admit that Manchester United fans like myself are biased towards their club. Let’s use that four letter word as the basis of this rant. Let’s be ‘FAIR’ and present what journalist Mick Dennis wrote in the rag during the last 48 hours. “Sir Alex Ferguson, the greatest manager of the modern era, has made himself a laughing stock. The Manchester United boss has turned into a cross between Harry Enfield’s Kevin the teenager complaining that everything is so unfair and Kenneth Williams wailing “Infamy, infamy…they’ve all got it in for me.”
