Michael Owen is confident he will be ready to play a full part in Manchester United’s pre season plans. The experienced striker has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in the Carling Cup final on 28th February. The next day it was announced that he was to have surgery on the damaged area but he expects to be back in time for the start of the season.

While 22 year old defender Jonny Evans is on the verge of pledging his future to Manchester United by signing a new, five year contract, goalkeeper Ben Foster has accepted the fact that he will have to leave Old Trafford if he’s going to give himself a chance of reviving his flagging career. And as far as he’s concerned his life goes on with a career at a new club.
