He’s now into his third season at Old Trafford after Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson paid a club record transfer fee of £30.75 million to get him from Tottenham Hotspur – a fee which incidentally Dimitar Berbatov had absolutely nothing to do with. Now, after 103 appearances, the Bulgarian may finally be accepted by United fans after taking his goal tally to 38 with a five goal haul against Blackburn Rovers. Among many other complaints about his game, critics accuse Berba of being lazy, inconsistent and does not score as many times as an expensive striker should. The statistics show an entirely different story.

Don’t be surprised to see the Glazers cut and run


It may only be a gut feeling but one cannot help but sense that the hostility of Manchester United fans towards the clubs American owners is beginning to show early signs that it’s starting to turn. A protest organised against the Glazers on Sunday is reported to have attracted around 3000 people, a spit in the ocean when compared to the 75,000 who attended the Spurs game twenty four hours earlier It raises the question as to whether the Glazer family has embarked on a calculated public relations charm offensive to win over their critics.
