What do you do after retiring from playing football in your early fourties? Most professionals go into management, coaching, the media or something where the vast knowledge built over many years can be used. Others like Eric Cantona and Vinnie Jones found a new talent in acting to become movie stars. If you were the man who proved to be the ace in the pack when Manchester United completed that history making treble in 1999 however, you take a totally different career path like Teddy Sheringham did.

Former Manchester United goal scoring wizard Andy Cole admits he regrets leaving Old Trafford in 2001 because not only did it cost him numerous honours including two Premier League titles, but also because he failed to make Sven Goran Eriksson‘s 2002 World Cup squad. Cole suggests he left Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to join Blackburn Rovers with the sole aim of being involved at the World Cup having missed out in 1998.

In one of my previous articles I said how Ryan Giggs run the wing like a 25 year old, rather than 35. Even though we had most of the possession in the 60 minutes prior to the great man coming on, there weren’t too many clear cut chances for the reds, Antonio Valencia probably guilty of the best chance.
Then on came the ever green Ryan Giggs, at 35 years old has more ability in his RIGHT leg then Nani has in both, he changed the course of the game yet again, running the flank, and playing a part in both of our goals…. Read the full story

Remember Sheringham? He was one of Manchester United hero in 1999 UEFA Champions league final. Teddy thinks Wayne Rooney could destroy his career after losing his cool yesterday during England v Ukraine game when he tackled Oleksandr Aliiev.
Also, he compared that incident with Paul Gascoigne one when he damaged his knee.
