4-1 is what the score board read at Old Trafford at the end of 90 minutes in Manchester United’s first game after the massive disappointment of the very early exit from the Champions League. Pre- game, I had called this match to be close as Wolverhampton Wanderers have run us close in our three encounters last season and even managed to beat us at Molinuex in the Premier League. It was close this season too but as the scoreline suggests it wasn’t too close and we could have scored more and win by a bigger margin. Read the full story

Manchester United came through a difficult encounter away in Wolves taking the all important three points courtesy of a Paul Scholes goal in the 73rd minute.
Despite the tight result, Manchester United controlled the game for large periods. Although the opening break was from Wolves, which resulted in Doyle placing the ball wide of the goal, Manchester United had plenty opportunities. Read the full story

Manchester United take on Wolverhampton Wanderers this Sunday at Molineux Stadium with the full expectations of supporters of the Red Devils gaining all three points.
The Wolves manager, Mick McCarthy earlier this season at Old Trafford selected a ‘weaker’ starting eleven, for which Wolves were given a £25,000 suspended fine, so one wouldn’t expect Wolves to replicate their decision, as they look to give United a much harder game at their own patch. It’s common knowledge that Ryan Giggs is the most decorated Manchester United player of all time with over 30 winners medals – and still counting. But how many times does the name Denis Irwin spring to mind when asked which player comes closest to Giggs for winning the most honours at the club?
During his time at Old Trafford Irwin made a total of 329 appearances, yielding 33 goals and gathering 13 winners medals. Not at all bad for the left full back with a keen eye for goal who was so often underrated by the media gurus.
