Liverpool v Manchester United – How Did We Manage That?


Wow! Did that really happen? Manchester United beat Liverpool? At Anfield? If someone told me we were going to win in such a manner in such an emotionally-charged day, I would have laughed in their face. I’m still bemused partly because of how poo

r we played but that’s how football is sometimes. As Giggs and Fergie mentioned, we’ve played well there and come away with nothing. 5 games in and we’re sitting pretty in the table. Although I haven’t been happy with the performances thus far, it’s hard to complain about the results. I will say, thought we were quite lucky yesterday.

Southampton v Manchester United – Comeback Kings?

For the second time in over 8 months, Manchester United came back and won the match. It was also the second time a Dutchman at United had opened their account against Fulham and scored a hat-trick against Southampton (Van Nistelrooy and Van Persie). It’s quite remarkable we were unable to make a comeback in a season where we finished 89 points. For those few games we did go behind and really needed a win, it could have been the difference between winning no.20.
