Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson, son of Sir Alex Ferguson, is looking to sign one of his father youngster’s Darron Gibson on loan. Ferguson confirmed his interest in United reserves team midfielder’s Gibson after he scored a wonderful goal in a pre-season friendly meeting between the two clubs last month in London Road.
Gibson, who spent most of his time with Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan last season, is unlikely to get a place in the first team squad as he is facing a strong challenge with other United midfielders. And Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to let his young player to gain some first team experience under the management of his son Darren.
Now younger Ferguson hopes to have his new player in place for Peterborough’s League One game with Northampton Town next weekend.
“I am still looking at a number of players, one from the Premier League and he is a midfielder,” Ferguson told Peterborough official website.
“I just feel if we can get those additions in then we will have a really strong squad with players for every position.
“However, I am looking to bring players in that can play straight away and when the loan window re-opens, we will see if we can sort something out.”
We hope Darron improves his game with Peterborough.
