Reports suggest that Manchester United are chasing Alemannia Aachen winger Lewis Holtby with an interest from our rival, Arsenal.
Sir Alex Ferguson sent scouts in the stands on the weekend to see the 18 year-old winger in action against German Second Division rivals Nurnberg.
Holtby was capped by Heiko Herrlich to play for the under 18 German national team of Germany. He also was capped to play for the german U-19 team in September. He scored his first international goal on 11 october against Lithuania at 5:0 victory.
Holtby has 18 months left in his current contract, but insists he’s happy at Aachen.
When he was asked about interest from United and Arsenal, he said: “I hope to soon play in the Bundesliga. And of course, I would love to do that with Alemannia.”
If Fergie brings Holtby this summer, he will be another player under 20 to join Man United in the last two years. This give an indication that Sir Alex is looking to build another generation of SIR ALEX’S BABY like he did before in 1996 ( When Beckham, Neville, Scholes and Butt were playing).
Do you think Lewis Holtby is a good addition for Manchester United?
Wow! thanks for that info!
