After winning the Carling Cup at Wembley last Sunday, Long serving winger Ryan Giggs feels Manchester United can win all possible trophies this season and reckons the team now have the same spirit and force of their historic Treble-winning season back in 1999.
Giggs believes this season squad is one of the strongest squad in Manchester United history and the current players have what it takes to add the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League to their Carling Cup and Club World Cup achievements.
“Momentum is key at this stage of the season and it’s what every team wants,” said Giggs in the aftermath of Sunday’s Carling Cup penalty shoot-out win over Tottenham.
“We had that momentum in 1999, we’ve got it at the moment and hopefully we can do it all over again. When you’re winning and playing well, you can’t wait for the games to come and you never seem to feel tired.
“We’ve got to keep winning.
“We’re experienced enough to know the title race is far from over. We’ve been in this position before and lost it. We’ve also been in Chelsea’s and Liverpool’s position and won it, so we know there’s a long way to go.”
United chance is great to win the Premier League. If they win tomorrow against Newcastle United, the points different will increase to ten without considering today Chelsea and Liverpool results.
