Manchester United are playing Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday in the annual opening of the new season.
There have been copiousness of alterations since the end of last season when Man United won the Premier League title again and Chelsea won the FA Cup.
It was busy summer for both teams which saw Carlo Ancelotti come in to replace Guus Hiddink as Blues manager, while Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Real Madrid in a record-breaking transfer.
SIR Alex Ferguson will have hard time choosing a goalkeeper ahead of Sunday’s clash with Chelsea due to the injury of number one Edwin van der Sar. It seems Ben Foster, who is expected to be named in Fabio Capello’s England squad for next week’s friendly in Holland when it is announced tomorrow, will replace van der sar. But Kuszczak is also having a chance because of his good form during the pre-season friendly games.
Valencia and Owen have both caught the eye in a positive pre-season campaign for United and could feature at Wembley, although Ferguson has several other options in attack such as Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov and youngster Federico Macheda.
Other difficulty for Fergie will be choosing Rio Ferdinand‘s partner because of Nemanja Vidic, Wes Brown, Gary Neville and Rafael Da Silva injuries. So we may see Evans playing alongside Rio while John O’shea and Evra will be playing as Right and Left back. Fabio and Belgian international Ritchie De Laet, who impressed the fans in Valencia game, will be waiting for their chances.
Possible Manchester United lineup:
Foster, O’shea, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Carrick, Anderson, Park, Rooney, Berbatov.
