Another strong win for Manchester United this weekend in what could have been a much more difficult encounter against Europa League hopefuls Fulham. The Red Devils eventually won 3-0 after two goals from in form Wayne Rooney and one from strike partner Berbatov in the second half.
Key in the result was the performance of the so called ‘spine’ of the team. Van der Sar with Vidic and Ferdinand ahead of him were at their best, Carrick and Fletcher dominated in midfield and Rooney and Berbatov were excellent as per usual. A rather frustrating performance again from Nani though. Initially he made a lovely pass for the first goal, however his corners were abysmal along with various other bits of individual skill he attempted to pull off, perhaps taking a page out of Park’s book wouldn’t go a miss for the young winger, with the South Korean producing another hard grafting performance.
On the whole the performance was pretty good, however there were some average patches that should be addressed. Sir Alex Ferguson will want to ensure those patches don’t come in some of the bigger games towards the end of the season, particularly in the Champions League.
