Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish will be asking Man United for the service of England international keeper Ben Foster in the summer. The old friendship between McLeish and Sir Alex Ferguson will help this deal to go through. The expected departure of on loan keeper Joe Hart will force McLeish to look for a replacement and Foster is a good choice for the Scottish gaffer.
Foster was given a golden opportunity earlier this season but he was struggling to make an impact and give an indication of his potential to replace Van der Sar and moving on loan next season will revive his hopes to be England number one.
On the other hand, Joe Hart has attracted interests from the likes of Arsenal and West Ham which means he won’t remain at St Andrew’s for another season.
McLeish said: “I would not rule out another loan for a keeper. That is a situation I would be happy to do again.
“I think we all know the Premier League and the likely candidates to be allowed out on loan, but so do a lot of other clubs too.
“We will see what we can sort out, but there will certainly be competition.”
Do you think Foster still has future at Man United?
