West Bromwich Albion have warned Manchester United to stay away from Holland Under 21 international Gianni Zuiverloon. Reports suggested that Sir Alex Ferguson is interested in adding the young defender to his squad and WBA manager Tony Mowbray and captain Paul Robinson have both urged the versatile defensive player to avoid any advances after only joining the club this summer in a £3.2million move from Heerenveen.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be keen on the 21-year-old, but Mowbray told Midlands newspaper the Express & Star: ‘I hope he realises he is a young player and we have given him an opportunity to come and play in the Premier League.
We have one or two players that other clubs ask me about, but selling is not the plan. The plan is to try to build a team, not to bring them in and sell them off quickly.
‘What is the point of bringing a player in and then selling him in a year?’
Zuiverloon has played only one five games with Baggies and showed that he could be one of the good defenders in the English premier league. But Gianni will face tough competition with other defenders in United.
Do you think United need Zuiverloon?
