The Premier League fixtures were realised today and the champions face newly promoted Birmingham City at the Theatre of Dreams on opening day. The second game of the season is a visit to Burnley’s Turf Moor, another newly promoted club just three days later. Their first clash against any of the other ‘Big Four’ is on 29th August against Arsenal at home before the return fixture on 30th February at the Emirates Stadium.
They then face Liverpool at Anfield on 24th October, with the home game 20th March at Old Trafford. The last big side they face is Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea on 7th November at Old Trafford and they meet again on 3rd April. The first Manchester derby against bitter-rivals Manchester City is on 19th September, with the second derby of the season on April 17th.
The Red Devils don’t have the hardest of starts to the 2009/2010 season and hopefully we can get off to a good start to next season. Sir Alex Ferguson could have a new look side by the time the season starts with Ronaldo and Tevez likely to be leaving Old Trafford in the coming weeks. The exit of the two stars will hopefully lead to more big players being drafted into an already top squad of players.
