A few hours before the big game against Liverpool kicks off, Sir Alex Ferguson is raising the challenge between his players to win one of the most important games in this Premier League season.
This time the boss is backing Michael Owen to upset his former club and fans by scoring goals and be a hero again but this time for Man United. Owen sets to start the game if Wayne Rooney fails to recover from the calf injury in time and this game will be the best opportunity for Owen to prove his worth in front of his old fans and England manager Fabio Capello.
Sir Alex Ferguson said: “He’s capable of scoring in any match at the highest level. He has a proven record in that respect and we knew that when we bought him.
“He’s at Manchester United now. He had great years at Liverpool and I’ll be interested to see the reaction he gets because very few players have played for both clubs.
“But I don’t think it will bother him.”
Will Mickey score today?
