Transfer rumours are a dime a dozen. Very few have genuine substance so they should always be taken with a huge amount of cynicism. Yet they cannot be completely ignored in case there’s the slightest grain of truth in them. Some media outlets are obviously more reliable than others so Truly Reds is prepared to report the gossip and give a rating of 1 to 5 as to how believable the rumours are likely be. A rating of 1 can almost certainly be dismissed out of hand while a 5 may give the story some merit and warrant a small wager. Have a look at the latest United transfer gossip being reported but be warned – only believe what you want.
The summers biggest talking point has obviously been Wesley Sneijder! Will he come to Old Trafford or will he remain at Inter Milan? For what it’s worth, my sixth sense tells me that the deal has already been done! There have been reports that the Holland midfielder will be given an opportunity of bidding farewell to his San Siro fans at the Super Cup tie against AC Milan on August 6. I may be overly optimistic but I can still see this transfer eventually going through RATED – 4
Brazilian Douglas Costa has been on the Manchester United radar for quite some time and according to goal.com, manager Sir Alex Ferguson is keeping tabs on the Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder. Costa only signed a five year contract for the Ukrainian outfit in January 2010 but since signing for the club his impressive performances both domestically and in European competition have caught the eye of Europe’s top sides.
According to his agent, United aren’t the the only team interested in trying to gain £24million rated Costa’s signature with rivals Manchester City, Napoli and Roma also keen admirers of the player. However it’s believed United are the favourites as the United boss is keen to bring Costa in as a replacement for the retired Paul Scholes. At this stage, this story can only be RATED – 2
Sir Alex Ferguson is planning to beat off interest from Chelsea to land Brazilian starlet Neymar. The Santos teenager has already stated his interest in plying his trade in the Premier League and The Blues has been downplaying their interest in bringing the talented attacker to Stamford Bridge but Man United are considering making an offer for the 18 year old this summer.
The Old Trafford boss has clearly made the most of his club’s links with Brazil in recent seasons and Ferguson has established a partnership with Desportivo Brasil to this end but now the Scot is thinking long and hard about making a significant offer for the Brazilian international RATED – 2
I’m sorry but I just cannot buy this. Football Italia is carrying a report that “Mirko Vucinic is very close to Manchester United” according to his agent Alessandro Lucci who told La Signora Gialloro Rosso “There has been no formal offers but the English club made it clear they very much appreciate Mirko. We will know more in the next few days”.
The AS Roma striker has requested a transfer following a row with fans and has been heavily linked with Juventus. As far as I’m concerned this is only wishful thinking by the agent which can only be RATED – 1
Is this one for the future? The People carried a report that Manchester United are considering a move for Brazilian teen star Adryan. Old Trafford scouts have watched the 16 year old Flamengo attacking midfielder in domestic action and passed on glowing references to Sir Alex Ferguson. United’s plans to sign the player will include a loan back to Flamengo until the player turns 18. Adryan has often been compared to Kaka in his homeland. Chelsea, Juventus, Inter Milan and Real Madrid have also been keeping tabs on the Brazil Under 17 star. Sir Alex is a shrewd operator so this may well be RATED – 3
Does anyone REALLY believe any of these reports?
I too blieve the Sneijder deal is don and dusted. I think Nike have sorted the wage gap and the fee will be around £29M but reported as £35m as normal. There are too many insiders (players and ex players)taling about it for there not to be a serious chance of this happening. Normally, if you read the reports it is just “an insider said” or “sources said”, but with this story, people like Gary Nevlle, David Beckham, the Holland coach, are all talkig it up. So I think it is done. (Think and hope that is!)
