About Club Brugge
Club Brugge have a fantastic history founded in 1891 making it one of Europe’s oldest teams. The fan base of the team stretches across Europe and over 10,000 fans will be expected to make the trip to Manchester. The home stadium of Jan Breydel Stadium only has a capacity of 29,000 so this will be a complete sell-out when the teams play. The season they played in the UEFA Champions League in a group that contained PSG, Real Madrid and Galatasaray. Whilst they finished third, they gave a solid account against these big teams. We played Club Brugges the last time we won the competition two years ago beating them 3 -1 at Old Trafford. Their squad has developed more since then and we will expect a better team.
The city of Brugges is an amazing place with thousands of tourists visiting the historic town center each day. This is a perfect day trip and couple with watching the Reds this would be a fantastic time of year to visit. It is a truly medieval town with an historic center and is one of Europe’s best preserved towns. Almost all attractions can be completed on foot and the Christmas Markets attract many weekend visitors. If you want to enjoy the match between Club Brugges and Manchester United with your partner then this is the perfect city to go to.
Manchester United will be running an official trip to Brugges from Manchester on the morning of the game and returning after the game. The other option will be the coach trip from Manchester which will leave the day before which will give enough time to enjoy 2 nights in this fantastic city. Thomas Cook used to be the official providers of sports travel to Manchester United but with their collapse this year it is yet to be announced who will be running the trips.
We always love to hear from fellow Manchester United fans, what do you think about today’s draw in Nyon and do you think we can go all the way this year.
