Manchester United are urging Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to start Paul Pogba for the Premier League clash against Sheffield United on Wednesday.
In United’s first match since the postponement against Tottenham Hotspur, world cup winner Paul Pogba started on the bench but completely changed the game he came on. With his passing skills and ability to get past players he was able to win a penalty to earn the Reds a draw. The player’s skill and ability have never been in doubt whilst his attitude to perform on a consistent basis has. Manchester United fans will be hoping that he remains fit and consistently plays well. Many fans are expecting the departure of Pogba to Real Madrid at the end of the season but for the time being fans will be happy to see him play.
The game against Sheffield United is important match due to the race for the UEFA Champions League and Chelsea winning on Sunday. Anything less than three points will be damaging in the run in towards the end of the season.
Sky Sports pundit and former Man United defender Gary Neville believes that Pogba will get the start alongside revelation Bruno Fernandes for the first time.
Now, I feel there’s a better chance of that team really succeeding, and I think they’ll play at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, and there won’t be any doubt that he’ll play with Bruno Fernandes. I know Jamie Carragher doesn’t believe they’ll be that exciting together, I do think they can be.”
Manchester Evening News created a poll and asked United fans on Twitter whether the World Cup winner should start against the Blades.
97.3 per cent of the 5,298 respondents believe Pogba should play from the off against Chris Wilder’s men. Just 2.7 per cent of respondents believe United should utilise their other midfield options.
What are your thoughts on Paul Pogba, shall he start the game on Wednesday or does Fred begin?
