Former Liverpool idol Michael Owen certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons when he stated that the winning culture at Manchester United is greater than at any other club he has ever been at during his career. Anfield fans had plenty of reasons to feel bitter about their club last season, for a fleeting moment one can almost even feel sorry for them, but they have now turned their frustration on one of their own legends simply because he had the courage to call a spade a spade.

ment to play for England if Fabio Capello had asked him earlier, says he has one more top flight season left in him. “I am coming to the end of my playing career and I maybe have one year left” the 35 year-old said. “I have started doing my coaching badges back in England and hopefully one day I will be able to coach kids or coach some kind of team somewhere.”

Michael Owen is confident he will be ready to play a full part in Manchester United’s pre season plans. The experienced striker has been out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in the Carling Cup final on 28th February. The next day it was announced that he was to have surgery on the damaged area but he expects to be back in time for the start of the season.
