Sir Alex Ferguson’s men already knew they would receive an automatic £25,000 fine from the FA after picking seven yellow cards during the draw with Chelsea last Sunday at Stamford Bridge.
However, there was a fear referee Mike Riley might suggest further incidents needed looking at, particularly Rio Ferdinand’s challenge on Didier Drogba at the end of the game and the aggressive attitude of some Reds players after the final whistle.
Those worries have now been allayed, with Riley confirming in his match report that he was happy with his handling of various incidents, meaning the Reds will avoid further scrutiny.

It is likely that Manchester United will receive a £25,000 fine after picking up seven yellow cards at Chelsea yesterday. Sir Alex Ferguson was left biting his lip in dissatisfaction following Mike Riley’s poor performance at Stamford Bridge, claiming there had not been a bad tackles in the game.
However United will still be hit by an automatic penalty, even if they are unlikely to be called to account for their conduct as a team.

Park Ji-sung scored the only game for United in 18th minutes and Sir Alex side looked set to break Chelsea’s 84-game unbeaten home record in the league. But Salomon Kalou came from the bench to level the score after 80 minutes with a header after he was left unmarked by Berbatov to ensure the game ended all level.
Sir Alex Ferguson surprised all fans with his starting line-up. He kept Tevez, Brown and Nani on the bench while Ronaldo was expected to play in the second half. The game started with a total control from United players who missed many chances in the first half. Manchester United manger’s Sir Alex Ferguson is having tough time to select who is going to replace Nemanja Vidic before Chelsea game this Sunday at Stamford Bridge. Vidic was sent off before the end of Liverpool game last Saturday and his position in central defence will be vacant.
During last season, Fergie has simple decision to shift Wes Brown to the center and let John O’shea or Hargreaves to fill the right side if Rio Ferdinand or Vidic were missing a game. But Villarreal game let Sir Alex Ferguson believes Jonny Evans is mature enough to play at top level.
“I have a decision to make on Sunday,” he said. “I need to work out whether I go with Evans’ ability but lack of experience or whether I opt for Wes’ experience and Gary at full-back.
