Liverpool win the derby but Manchester United stay top

Manchester United lost the English North derby, it is their first defeat of the season at Old Trafford after conceding full four goals from Liverpool.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal for Man United after Park brought down by Reina inside the box. Then Manchester United did many mistakes which they have never done during this season.

Torres made the score level after Vidic’s error to clear the ball. Partice Evra tackled Gerrard from behind inside the box to give Liverpool another gift. Gerrard sent his penalty into the bottom left hand corner of van der Sar’s goal. The Dutchman was unable to save Man United day.

In the second half, Man United couldn’t play the game in the way they wished. Sir Alex Ferguson did a late triple change in the 74th minute with Berbatov, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes taking the place of Anderson, Carrick and Park.

These changes couldn’t help Manchester United as Vidic was sent off after pulling Gerrard to the ground as the Liverpool midfielder looked to run through one-on-one with van der Sar.

These incident helped Liverpool to score another two goals by Aurelio and Dossena. The final score 1 – 4 for Liverpool.

Although we lost the game, our team stays in top with a game in hand. If Sir Alex Ferguson’ boys can win it, they will return the points different into seven points.

Now, the only thing is needed by the club management to keep the players motivation high, it was a derby game and everything can happen in such a game, as United are having tough games in the coming days.
