Gary Neville, Man United Captain, has criticized the appointment of former England international team mate’ Alan Shearer as a manager. He believes any former player should get qualify before managing in the premier league or anywhere else.
The Premier League rule stated any boss is supposed to hold the UEFA Pro Licence and Shearer has become Newcastle manager without it.
Neville is currently under the process of obtaining his UEFA ‘A’ badge.
‘Players are getting jobs without the badges because they couldn’t be bothered, or didn’t have time, or played at the top level so think, ‘Why do I have to do it’? Neville told The Times
‘The FA (Football Association) and Premier League have to stand up and be counted. They have to start taking a tougher stand on it.’
I think Gary is correct, but sometime a former football star without qualification can do what many qualified mangers couldn’t do!
