Wigan vs Manchester United preview
Manchester United visit Wigan on Saturday afternoon, looking to bounce back from the midweek 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor. United probably should of beat the Clarets, but they have a chance to regain pride and three points against North West rivals Wigan.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson knows his side need to claim three valuable points at the DW Stadium or morale could be heavily damaged. United have a good record against the Latic’s, United have beaten them nine times in nine meetings, eight of those wins have been in the Premier League.
Wigan also lost in midweek, suffering a 1-0 home defeat to Premier League newcomers Wolves and they will be hoping to claim a shock victory and get back on track in the Premier League.
United will be without centre-back Rio Ferdinand, who has been ruled out for up to a month with a thigh strain. United will however have Serbian defender Nemanja Vidic back at the heart of the defence, hes missed the two previous games with a calf injury.
Wigan have a slight doubt over winger Charles N’Zogbia, the Frenchman is struggling with an ankle injury. He played in the midweek defeat by Wolves but aggravated the injury and hes currently 50/50 to play.
