  1. I expect Carrick to see out his new deal, you say it could be for a higher price but United dont work like that, we offer new deals to keep players for the long term, not like others who does it for more cash. This is good news, now hopefully he will regain the form he displayed when we signed him

  2. Really hope that you’re right Andy. True, United has not worked like that in the past but those damn agents have changed the world of football and can back clubs into a corner.

  3. in all honesty i was a bit upset that he had signed a new deal, but at the same time from playing too much FM11 it has become quite apparent that the nearer you are to the end of your contract the less you are valued as on the transfer market, hopefully this is just a way for fergie to get more from him in some sort of swap or transfer deal

  4. As mentioned in the article StevieG, that possibility cannot be discounted. I must confess however that I have not yet given up on Carrick.

  5. Carrick never recovered form being chargrilled by Xavi and Iniesta. Rooney hasn’t had a first touch for a year. Yes, I know about the wonder goal, but even a clock that’s stopped is right twice a day.

TBH I hope their new deals see Carrick AND Rooney shipped out. So long as we buy — and buy BIG, and don’t have any more of that “no value in the market” bullshit.

Sneijder and Llorente would do for replacements. Or Bale and Modric.
