While the 2011-12 Premier League fixtures have now been released it must be remembered that they are only PROVISIONAL and are open to adjustments. There are some points worth noting however. Unless harsh weather conditions force unexpected postponents – as they did last season, United are scheduled to play 9 of their 10 crunch matches against likely main rivals Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Tottenham by March 3 – around the same time as the crucial knock out round of 16 in the Champions League commences. That will only leave the mouth watering clash with City at Eastlands on April 28 before the title race comes to an end two weeks later. Many surprising twists and turns will lie ahead but at first glance, United could have been faced with a much harder task.
