Transfer rumours are a dime a dozen. Very few have genuine substance so they should always be taken with a huge amount of cynicism. Yet they cannot be completely ignored in case there’s the slightest grain of truth in them. Some media outlets are obviously more reliable than others so Truly Reds is prepared to report the gossip and give a rating of 1 to 5 as to how believable it’s likely be. A rating of 0 can almost certainly be dismissed out of hand while a 5 may give the story some merit and warrant a small wager. Have a look at the latest United transfer gossip being reported but be warned – only believe what you want.
Just like everyone else reading this, I have become sick and tired of the long running Wesley Sneijder transfer saga. The Daily Mail is now reporting that Inter Milan are poised to make an audacious swoop for Manchester City’s want away striker Carlos Tevez in a move which could open the door for the Blues to make a sensational bid for Sneijder. City are primed to move for the Holland international because Corinthians’ plans to capture Tevez are coming under increasing pressure as the Brazilian transfer deadline approaches at midnight on Wednesday.
It has now got to the stage where I stopped caring whether he comes to Old Trafford or not. United won the Premier League without him last season and with an even stronger squad this time around, can retain the title RATED – 3
This story is being reported on givemefootball.com which automatically reduces its rating but it claims that Bayern Munich’s Bastian Schweinsteiger and Valencia’s Juan Mata are at the top of Ferguson’s list to fill the midfield gap which may not be filled by Sneijder. Mata, who can play in both the wing and midfield position is reportedly worth around £26 million and while Arsenal have been targeting the Valencia star, United look to have the edge with a larger transfer budget.
Schweinsteiger, meanwhile, extended his contract with Bayern Munich last December until 2016 but United are said to believe that if they make the right offer for the star playmaker, said to be worth £30 million, Schweinsteiger’s head may be turned. The odds of Sir Alex snaring just one of them can only be RATED – 2
Manchester United are set to launch a £15m bid for Rennes’ midfielder Yann M’Vila. According to CaughtOffside.com, Sir Alex is not finished in the market just yet and is considering the French international as a potential replacement for the recently retired Paul Scholes.
United had been linked with both Samir Nasri and Wesley Sneijder, however with Nasri now looking set to join the blue half of Manchester and Inter Milan placing a valuation on the Dutchman believed to be no less than £37m, the attention may now have turned to the 21 year old who has impressed during his time at Rennes. Knowing Ferguson’s preference for youngsters in that age group, this can possibly be RATED – 3
And now for something completely different! The Beijing Times reckon Guagzhou Evergrande want to double Ji Sung Park’s salary to bring him to China. After splashing out on Dario Conca, who now only earns less than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the ambitious outfit are chasing the United favourite. “Club owner Xu Jiayin said he will do whatever is necessary to bring Park to the team” warned boss Lee Jang-soo ominously. Hmm, RATED – 2
Has Ferguson missed out on signing Wesley Sneijder?
