Van der Sar Shoot-Out Hero Again

Congratulations to all United’s fans around the world. Our team claims the community shield few minutes ago after the match hero Van der Sar could save one shoot and the other two were missed. The game end 3-1 on penalties following a goalless draw. The game in general was average. Carlos Tevez and Luis Nani did very well in today game as United were missing their main squad players like Rooney and Ronaldo. The first threat came after 26 minutes from Ryan Giggs. His shoot was denied by David James after a throw pass from John O’Shea.

5 minutes before the end of the first half, Nani showed his class with a nice aerial control of the ball from the middle of Pompey half. He flicked the ball over both Sol Campbell, then James only for Distin to save the day for Portsmouth by clearing the ball over the bar.

Before the end of the second-half, Carlos Tevez has a nice shoot to the wide right of David James goal, but somehow the English international could touch the ball with his fingers. After this chance Tevez was denied a penalty after twisting with Herman Hreidarsson just inside the Pompey box. The Referee Peter Walton’s angle was not perfect and he didn’t blow his whistle until the end of the game.

In the penalties shoot-out, the hero was there as usual. Portsmouth started with a wide shoot by Diarra. Carlos Tevez scored the first spot kick for United. Defoe was the only one to score for pompey before the hero Van der sar saved Arnold Mvuemba shoot. Giggs and Carrick also scored for United and then Glen Johnson sent his shoot over the bar to give United their First tittle of 2008-2009 season.

How did you find the game? And do we still need to buy a striker?
