“Never giving up” is part of United’s history


It was heard as late as last Saturday,  a cry of  “Lucky United”.  It’s said that luck evens itself out, but does it? Even when it always seems to favour  United? “It’s a quality that’s part of our history” says Sir Alex Ferguson. A whole chapter of the Manchester United story can be devoted to the team’s last minute winners and  for the victims it can be soul destroying, just like it was at Eastlands. United have reserved their most callous acts this season for their City neighbours – 90+6, 90+2, 90+3.

Injury headaches for all three title challengers


If it wasn’t so true the media would have needed to make it up! Just when the cruel injury suffered by super striker Wayne Rooney in Munich appeared to severely diminish the chances of a fourth successive Premier League title for Manchester United, fate intervened just24 hours later to also possibly derail the challenges of  rivals Arsenal and Chelsea.

Rooney scored late equaliser, but couldn't prevent United slipping to defeat.

Manchester United have suffered a 4-1 penalty defeat at the hands of title rivals Chelsea. The match was a entertaining affair which resulted in a 2-2 draw. It was also a game of two half with United controlling the first half and Chelsea the second half.

Chelsea started the stronger of the two sides with Branislav Ivanovic having a effort cleared off the line and on to the bar by Patrice Evra. Portuguese winger Nani produced a moment of brilliance in the 10th minute. The mercurial star turned and ran at the Chelsea defence before lashing the ball past Petr Cech. Read the full story
