South Korea captain Ji Sung Park admits that qualifying for the semi finals of the 2002 World Cup was a little miracle but that it’s possible for it to happen again in South Africa. “Obviously 2002 was a great achievment for us, it was a miracle but there’s nothing to say that it cannot happen again” the 29 year old Manchester United midfield dynamo warned. But then Park quickly added that the odds of a repeat performance are very slim “Actually our goal is to get through to the second round and we don’t even think about going any further”

In a season during which a total of 55 Premier, Champions League, FA and Carling Cup matches were played by Manchester United, full back Patrice Evra appeared in no less than 51 of them, a consistency and injury free record which must be the envy of every player in the League. Yet a report has now surfaced indicating that the French international is ready to look for a new challenge in either Spain or Italy.

It says everything about Paul Scholes that he has crept unnoticed into Manchester United’s all time goalscorers Top 10 with his dramatic injury time winner against Manchester City on Saturday. No fanfare, no fuss – aside from a startling kiss on the lips from Gary Neville, and certainly no pre planned celebration despite his milestone. A typical Scholesy understatement.
