Manchester United offer to sign starlet Alexis Sanchez was rejected, according to the player’s agent. Sanchez is owned by Udinese, but he never played for the Italians after the signing from Cobreloa in 2006, he has been loaned to play back in South America, first with Colo-Colo and recently with the River Plate in Argentina. River are trying to secure his signature, however Udinese stall any talk when United show their interest for Cristiano Ronaldo replacement as report suggested.
Former United legend, Roy Keane is looking to sign Luis Saha and give him a chance to end his Old Trafford gloom by playing for Sunderland. Saha’s fate as a United player is expected to be sealed if United land Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham by the end of next week.

Manchester United are purposing to sign Dimitar Berbatov in the coming weeks, after a ? 20 million offer been rejected last week. Sir Alex Ferguson is strongly wishes to to add the Striker to his squad. Now United will raise their bid to ? 25 million which is good enough for spurs to sign the Bulgarian hitman. United have been interested in him for more than a year, but Tottenham were hoping Barcelona, Real Madrid or AC Milan would firm up their interest and start a summer auction.
Sir Alex is a big fan of Berbatov and has showed his respect to the striker many times during this summer. Berbatov’s agent Emil Danchev told Bulgarian radio: “I know for certain Manchester United have shown interest in signing Dimitar Berbatov, but I’m not entitled to make any more comments.”

Manchester United made a winning start to the new pre-season campaign, goals from Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney gave United a victory over Aberdeen after hard game at Pittodrie.
Aberdeen, celebrating the 25th anniversary of winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup under Sir Alex Ferguson, stacked plenty of pressure on the Champions League winners, and were unlucky to see a first-half goal from Darren Mackie ruled out for offside.
United were back on the attack after 27 minutes when Giggs shot deflected wide after a swapping of passes with Michael Carrick. The deadlock was finally broken when Carrick split the defence with a beautiful pass to Rooney in the 43rd minute, Aberdeen keeper’s Langfield deemed to have brought the Golden Boy down as he tried to round the keeper. Today Manchester United are going to play their first pre-season game against Scottish side Aberdeen at 18:00 GMT. Sir Alex Ferguson used to manage Aberdeen before moving to Old Trafford. He is marking 25 years since winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup with Aberdeen and he will celebrate this event by taking his United squad to Pittodrie for a pre-season friendly. The Pittodrie match marks 25 years since Sir Alex Ferguson led the Dons to glory in the European Cup Winners’ Cup against Real Madrid.

The Portuguese FA has officially appointed Queiroz as their next national team manager on a four-year contract. They were searching for a replacement for Luiz Felipe Scolari, after the Brazilian left to Chelsea. Scolari was named as Avram Grant’s replacement during Euro 2008 before Portugal knocked out of the tournament at the quarter-final stage. Manchester United assistant manager Queiroz was immediately set as the preferred choice for the job, but he had to wait until the outcome of the talks between Manchester United and Portugal. There has been some rumor that Queiroz could wish to remain at Old Trafford, with Sir Alex Ferguson see on him the right man to be the next Man United manager.
Queiroz expressed his happens to answer his country call and will look to guide Portugal to glory at the next World Cup in South Africa. Read the full story
