Whilst it is still only Tuesday, we are looking ahead to this Saturday’s match against Watford in the return of the Premier League. Since the defeat in the FA Cup against Wolverhampton Wanderers we have had the International Break. Now the race for the top four is back on.
Importance of the Game
Whilst every game is important, this fixture is a must win game for Ole Gunnar and the Reds. A result other than a win will damage the hopes of gaining a top four position. With the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea in relatively good form the Reds cannot afford more dropped points. Whilst we will be favourites to win the game, the pressure is now on to get the results.
International Break
It is too early to discuss the team sheet but Ole Gunnar should have the majority of the squad available for the home match. The only player with a longer term injury is Alexis Sanchez. Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial should all be fit despite having pulled out of international duty, probably with the understanding of the important fixtures coming up.
Ole Gunnar As Manager
Reports from several UK tabloids state that the agent of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will sit down with the Directors of Manchester United and discuss the contract. It is highly likely he will be given the role of Permanent Manager, something which many fans agree with.
Transfer News
As with all International Breaks, there is a higher amount of speculation than normal. This week, there are many reports from Spain about Paul Pogba going to Real Madrid. However unless Madrid come in with an offer that beats any previous world record transfer fee then we at Truly Reds don’t think the Frenchman will leave the club. Another player with increased speculation is Ander Herrera whom has been linked to Arsenal with his contract still in negotiation.
